Sewell FM secures a finalist spot at the IWFM Impact Awards 2020

Sewell FM has secured a spot as a finalist as this year’s IWFM Impact Awards for their work with Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust (YAS).

The Trust had been using a self-delivered model for the core part of their facilities management service with any additional requirement for specialist maintenance undertaken by sub-contractors. However, this approach was leading to quality and efficiency issues and this was beginning to impact their ability to focus on their core reason for being.

Last year, Sewell FM joined forces with the trust, who have 105 buildings across Yorkshire, to support the organisation’s facilities management requirements, working closely with the team at YAS to tailor the approach to their vast and varied estate.

Now, Sewell FM will be joining four other finalists recognised in the Team of the Year category at this year’s IWFM Impact Awards 2020.

Tom Farrow, Facilities Manager and Team Leader at Sewell Facilities Management, said: “This is fantastic recognition for the whole team working together to provide a world-class service for the trust. Our partnership with YAS is something we’re very proud of and it’s a pleasure to have worked alongside their team over the past year.”

Managing Director of Sewell FM, Martin Stead, said: “I’m very proud of the team for their hard work and dedication. Whatever the outcome at the awards in October, I am delighted for the team to be recognised.”

This isn’t the first time the team will be joining the other finalists at the national award ceremony. Sewell FM’s ‘Abilities in Facilities’ partnership with Mencap was chosen in 2018 out of three shortlisted as the winning bid after creating paid employment and training opportunities for individuals with a learning disability.

The awards ceremony will take place in October. Previously the awards have been held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London but this year will be a first as the event will be held virtually due to the recent pandemic.
