Period of significant investment reaps rewards

Sewell Group has won a place in the Yorkshire Post’s fastest growing companies 2014.

The comprehensive list recognises organisations that have achieved the largest growth between 2010 and 2013, have created jobs and secured investment for the region.

The multi disciplined company, with services spanning the estates and retail sectors, has evidenced steady growth in turnover over this period, primarily as a result of the significant investment into health and education developments coming to fruition.

Over the last decade, Sewell has delivered twelve new health centres and seven new or remodelled secondary schools across the region. Through these projects Sewell reinvested £200m into local supply chain companies across Yorkshire; creating a regional multiplier of 3.

Paul Sewell, Managing Director of the consistent Best Companies to Work For business said:

“It’s a great achievement to be recognised for our contribution to the region’s economy and ranked amongst Yorkshire’s elite.”

“At Sewell we believe success is primarily a result of staff attitude and behaviours; people do business with people, therefore good business starts with your workforce. We’ve worked hard over the years to become a great place to work and provide positive working environments, this enthuses our people to deliver quality services and to go the extra mile for their customers.”

The Yorkshire Fastest 50 2014 has been compiled by the Yorkshire Post in association with Top 100 UK law firm Ward Hadaway. Martin Hulls, the head of office at Ward Hadaway Leeds, said:

“As in previous years, the Yorkshire Fastest 50 2014 highlights and celebrates fantastic achievements by companies from right across the region. It also demonstrates what a great variety of companies are prospering here, and provides a fascinating glimpse of the different sectors which help to make Yorkshire’s economy so vibrant and resilient.”

An awards ceremony will take place at Aspire in Leeds later today, where the winners of the Yorkshire Fastest 50 2014 will be revealed.
