The Hull health estate is shining bright following the installation of hundreds of energy saving light fittings.
Hull Citycare’s FM provider Sewell Facilities Management has invested almost £30,000 following the installation of 216 LED light fittings, which will result utility cost reductions for tenants.
The work, which has been carried out over and above the estate lifecycle requirements has also brightened up public spaces and corridors.
John Crichton is the Facilities Manager responsible for coordinating the lifecycle work across the 12 health facilities in Hull.
John said:
“So far we’ve changed 216 fittings, focusing on the high usage areas such as receptions and hallways. They’re the areas where we’ll see the biggest benefit.
“We’ve started with Kingswood Health Centre and plan to roll out the more energy efficient fittings in all public areas across the 12 health centres.
“It’s a significant investment for us, but as the fittings are LED they’ll last longer and also reduce energy consumption, so it’s a win-win.”
