Summer fun at St Barnabas

The summer holidays were filled with fun at St Barnabas CE Primary School in York as children enjoyed a range of activities at the Out of School Club.

From bouncy castles and go karts to water play and art sessions, children aged three to 11 were kept entertained during the break.

Dave Healey, Facilities Officer at Sewell Facilities Management, helped the group prepare for some of the activities and ensured everything ran smoothly.

Jane Eddom, who runs the club, said: “We had all sorts going on and plenty of toys and activities for the children to play with.

“An art teacher came in to coordinate seaside-themed pictures and sand activities with the children, and we had go karts on the field and a bouncy castle.

“We also take them on trips, going to other clubs nearby for fun days.

“Dave has been really helpful, particularly on the water play days. It’s very nice to have someone there and know we can count on him. If there’s anything we need, he’s always happy to help.”

The club runs from 7.30am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, and includes breakfast and after school clubs, as well as training days and school holidays.

Dave said: “I helped with access and arranging power supplies.

“I changed buckets of water for them, replenished toilet rolls and paper towels. The children looked like they had great fun on the bouncy castles and go karts.”
